General Responsibilities

The Chair is responsible for ensuring that the Board of Directors and its members are:

1. aware of and fulfill their governance responsibilities and comply with the bylaws.
2. conduct board business effectively and efficiently.
3. are accountable for their performance.

In order to fulfill these responsibilities, and subject to the organisation’s bylaws, the Chair:

1. presides over meetings
2. proposes policies and practices
3. represents the Society at a national level
4. monitors the performance of Directors and Officers
5. submits various reports to the board
