SEARCH PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT COURSE
Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th August, 2010
There has been considerable research and development done in the past few years in the area of the application of search theory to land search. This has resulted in significant changes in how land search planning is carried out. Thus, the "state-of-the-art" has progressed. This Refresher course is aimed at those who have previously attended a full five day course in Search Planning and Management and who are interested in learning more about current best practices. In particular, this course should be of interest to any who have attended a course five or more years ago.
This two day course will cover new developments in lost person behaviour, expand on the practical application of search theory to land search, and provide a single methodology for the resolution of open country search problems. As with the five day course, the emphasis is placed on open country search but the general principles are applicable to nearly all search endeavours.
We are pleased to announce that one of the primary researchers in the recent advances in this subject area will be teaching on this course — Dr. Donald Cooper.
This course will be held on the Normal Site, Bangor University, Gwynedd. The course will start at 08.45 hrs. on Wednesday 25th August. The course will run from 08.45 hrs to 17.30 hrs on Wednesday and will be completed before 16.30 hrs on the Thursday.
